Tours may vary slightly and visit different locations , but generally this is our most common itinerary .
Arrival in thailand
Upon arrival in Bangkok (normally late evening) you are met at the airport and escorted to your hotel on public transport so you can begin to experience some local culture . We organise your ‘check in’ and then you can either rest in your hotel for the night , or spend some time with the tour leader and other guests getting to know each other .

Day 1
A full day tour of Bangkok .
You get to see the original city of Bangkok , which is over 500 years old , the Royal Palace , ride a boat down the river and much more …… everyone enjoys this tour and it gives you another opportunity to become more acquainted with the other guests ; you get back late in the evening .

day 2
Leaving your hotel around 9am we make our way , at a leisurely pace , to Bangkok domestic airport .
This involves a train and local bus ride – it’s always a great experience mixing with Thai people as they get on with their day to day living . After a one hour flight we arrive in Chiang Mai mid-afternoon , where we book you into your hotel and then you can spend the rest of the evening enjoying the beautiful Chiang Mai sunday market ; we work behind the scenes getting your motorbikes ready for tomorrows ride .

day 3
We pick up our bikes and spend the day doing the ‘Samoeng Loop’

This day serves both as a sight-seeing experience and gives the riders a chance to familiarise themselves with their bikes . We arrive back in Chiang Mai late evening and , as always on this tour , you can do your own thing or get together with the group for dinner and some ‘chatter’ .

day 4
‘Mae Hong Son loop’
There are many ways to do this trip and many different places to see and stop at along the way .
We travel from Chiang Mai to Pai – with plenty of stops on the way !
Pai is a great town to spend the night – usually has great food markets at night , where you can take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the local , home-made , cuisine .
Superb accommodation — even better breakfast !

day 5
Pai to Mae Hong Son
View and explore the beautiful lake and Buddhist monastery before having an early dinner and then a short ride to our enchanting accommodation amongst the rice fields !

Day 6
Mae Hong Son to the area of Doi Inthanon .
Tonight we stay at an orphanage where you will sleep in huts cantilevered over a hill looking down into a river . You can walk to a nearby suspension rope bridge which locals traverse on bikes (it’s only about 1 metre wide) or watch locals fishing in the river below .
When staying here , we always ask if we can join the children of the orphanage for dinner ; if we are given permission to do so , it is entirely up to you whether you want to participate . We find it a very rewarding experience .

Day 7
Travel to Thailand’s tallest place and coldest area , on which there are two magnificent Buddhist temples .
A meandering , casual ride back to Chiang Mai , with a stop for late lunch , where you can take a swim in a local river ; then return the bikes to our man Lan , where we thank him once again for providing us with such a great service .

day 8
It’s your day in Chiang Mai .
You should be feeling quite comfortable as a ‘farang’ in Thailand by now and have the confidence to do a day on your own .
Organise a tour at one of the many tourist offices .
Hire a tuktuk for the day !
Walk the streets .
Thai Bike Tours does not endorse elephant riding , tiger parks or establishments that provide monkey photo opportunities .

day 9
Leave our hotel at around 9am and fly to Bangkok , arriving at our Bangkok accommodation late afternoon .
The evening in Bangkok is yours . Some guests go off on their own ; others get together and plan a night out .
day 10
This is the worst part of the tour !
We pick you up at your hotel around 9am and then it’s a casual train ride to Bangkok international airport .
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN
